2026-2030 Strategic Plan

Empower 2030 is our new strategic plan that shares Staunton City Schools' mission to empower students, staff and families to excel over the next four years. It builds on the significant growth and achievement of climbing 70 places in the state rankings over the last seven years to 35th in Virginia.

The plan describes our commitment to four strategic priorities that will guide our work over the next four years:

Empower 2030 affirms that we believe in every person, value positive relationships, and lead with empathy and courage. Together, we will continue to build schools where students feel safe and inspired, families feel welcomed and respected, and staff feel empowered to make a meaningful difference.

Framework for Empower 2030

Empower 2030 was developed through a deliberate and inclusive engagement process to gather meaningful input from the entire Staunton City Schools community. Over 1,900 students, staff, families, and community members contributed their perspectives through a comprehensive survey. The division also hosted 13 forums to engage directly with stakeholders and foster deeper discussions about future priorities. These opportunities allowed for thoughtful reflection and the exchange of ideas on how Staunton City Schools can continue to grow and effectively serve its students.
