Superintendent Search Process
The Staunton City School Board voted in a special meeting on March 4, 2025 to hire BWP and Associates (BWP), a national search firm specializing in school superintendent recruitment, to lead the search for Staunton City Schools' next superintendent.
The school board will work with Kevin Castner and E. Wayne Harris of BWP—both retired superintendents. They successfully recruited SCS's last two superintendents and have helped school divisions across Virginia and beyond recruit and hire more than 60 superintendents.

- Community Forums, Thursday, April 3: 11:30 AM - 1 PM at City Hall, Rita S. Wilson Council Chambers and 6:30-8 PM in the Staunton High School Cafeteria
- Employee, student and parent group forums also held April 2-3
- Online community survey released for public input (closes at midnight, April 10)
- Presentation to school board by BWP with report of stakeholder feedback and draft leadership profile
May - June 2025
- Board selects finalists for interviews
