In 2019, Staunton City Schools launched The Kindness Fund (formerly the Equity First Fund), thanks to generous, unsolicited donations from individual and corporate donors totaling more than $150,000 to date.

The creation of the Kindness Fund was a significant milestone in the school division’s strategic, ongoing equity work that began in 2017. Donations to the fund cover things such as out-of-pocket fees for student exams, programs and courses, the Kindness Matters campaign, technology for families in need, and tutoring.

Staunton City Schools is accepting donations on an ongoing basis for the Kindness Fund to help remove barriers to educational success for all students.
