About

In 2019, Staunton City Schools launched The Kindness Fund (formerly the Equity First Fund), thanks to generous, unsolicited donations from individual and corporate donors totaling more than $125,000.

The creation of the Equity First Fund was a significant milestone in the school division’s strategic, ongoing work on diversity and inclusion that began in 2017. Donations to the fund cover things such as out-of-pocket fees for student exams, programs and courses, diversity and inclusion training for faculty and staff, technology for families in need and tutoring.

Staunton City Schools is accepting donations on an ongoing basis for the Equity First Fund to help remove barriers to educational success for all students. Email Dr. Garett Smith, Superintendent, to support the fund, or call 540.332.3920.
